Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Colony: massive, flattened rather than hemispherical, diameter often more than 1 m. Corallites: compact, neatly rounded, uniform size. Septo-costae: exsert, equal, uniform space. Color: uniform dark gray with paler oral discs (Ref. 848).
Biology:  Zooxanthellate (Ref. 121684). Occurs in shallow reef environments (Refs. 848, 121684). On rocky reef (Ref. 121684).
