Family:  Hippolytidae (cock shrimps)
Max. size:  2.22 cm CL (male/unsexed); 3.074 cm CL (female)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 1 - 17 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific. Introduced in the Mediterranean.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Intertidal (Ref. 106854). Found along the infralittoral to sublittoral zone, within lagoons, over dead coral rubble (Ref. 97325).
