Definition of Term

fitness
(English) Contribution of a genotype to the next generation, relative to the contribution of other genotypes. The number of offspring an organism manages to produce and raise successfully. (See also: evolution, selection, genotype)
aptitude
(French) Contribution d'un génotype à la génération prochaine, relatif à la contribution des autres génotypes. Le nombre de progéniture qu'un organisme réusit à produire et élever avec succès. (See also: evolution, selection, genotype)
