Definition of Term

maximum age
(English) The oldest age reached by (some of) the fish of a given population. Note that in FishBase (and in most of the literature) longevity refers the oldest known specimen of a species, whereas tmax refers to the current maximum age in a stock. (See also: longevity, FishBase, population)
âge maximum
(French) Âge le plus élevé atteint par certains poissons d'une population donnée. Noter que dans FishBase (et dans toute la littérature), la longévité se réfère aux plus vieux spécimens connus d'une espèce, alors que le tmax se réfère à l'âge maximum dans un stock. idade máxima
(Portuguese) A maior idade a que chegam os (ou apenas alguns) peixes duma dada população. (See also: longevity, FishBase, population)
