Comments There was a single occurrence of Haliotis rufesccens in Athabaskan Island. Since then, beached H. rufescens have been reported from various sites along the British Columbian coast (Ref. 126189). The vector for introduction is unknown, but several hypothesis include a northward range extension influenced by climate change, accidental introduction from aquaculture, and northward transport via kelp rafts from the Oregon-California area.
