Maximum carapace width: 10.9 cm. Minimum depth from Ref. 2708. Inhabits brackish and saltwater at depths of less than 30 m on bottoms of mud and sand (Ref. 435). Omnivore and opportunistic benthic predator. Prefers fishes and molluscs (Ref. 106107). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
