Zooids size ranges from 0.025 to 0.05 cm in length (Ref. 86358). Attached to substrate; common under stones on reef ridges and occasionally grows on mangrove roots or other hard substrata such as oyster shells (Ref. 1758, 86424). Members of the class Ascidiacea are hermaphroditic; both cross- and self-fertilization is typical. Life cycle: Eggs develop into lecithotrophic larva before metamorphosing into benthic adults (Ref. 833).
