Western Indian Ocean: United Arab Emirates, Kenya and Mozambique.
Known from depths between 5 to 20 m (Ref. 81232). Usually attached to subtidal rocks protected from wave action but where there is a water current (Ref. 102838). Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge (Ref. 833).
