Found along the neritic zone, in reef areas (Ref. 97241) and intertidal rocky shores (Ref. 84890). An omnivore known to feed on algae, polychaetes, sponges, echinoderms, molluscs, crustaceans, organic detritus, and carrion (Ref. 97241). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
