Eastern Pacific: Canada to Mexico.
It is commonly found in the shells of snails Lithopoma gibberosum, Lithopoma undosum, Polinices lewisii, and Kelletia kelletii, on rocks and soft bottoms to a depth of 15 meters (Ref. 865). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
