Maximum carapace width: 5.15 cm. Occurs from the intertidal and subtidal zone to a depth of 40 m. Inhabits in estuarine or marine environment, burrowing in mud or found under stones in muddy or rocky environment. Occurs at the low tide mark (Ref. 435). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
