It is found on various substrates like sponges and hydroids, e.g. Symplectoscyphus spp. at depths of 15 to 20 m (Ref. 87801). Members of the order Leptothecata include L-form hydroids. Life cycle: The zygote develops into planula and later into polyp then into free-swimming medusa (Ref. 833).
