Climate / Range
Globular, with uniformly hispid surface. Firm and slightly compressible. Bright yellow endosome and greenish to brown ectosome. Radial arrangement is formed by bundles of oxea radiating from a central focus.
Minimum depth assumed from its ecology. Largely restricted to inshore reefs, often found in areas with high rates of sedimentation (Ref. 83443). Filter-feeder (Ref. 68823). Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge (Ref. 833).
