Indo-West Pacific: from India and Sri Lanka to Melanesia; north to Japan and south to southern Queensland.
Common on coastal rocks and in exposed areas. Also in rock pools. Intertidal, on rocks (Refs. 799, 75835) (Ref. 349). Members of the order Patellogastropoda are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults (Ref. 833).
