Inhabits the low intertidal and subtidal zone, beneath rocks. Gregarious, megalopae are usually associated with many adults (Ref. 113380). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833). Also Refs. 111904, 112151, 112742 (Ref. 56049).
