Dead shells found from 80 to 120 m in depth. Attached via its byssus to the undersides of corals or on sandy bottoms among coral rubble (Ref. 101147). Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam (Ref. 833).
