Found in seagrass beds and sandy bottoms, in littoral and sublittoral areas (Ref. 83922). Also on rubble and other submerged vegetation (Ref. 97531). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
