Inhabits shallow water at depths from 15 to 40 m, over mud bottom with or without coral debris, rock, shell, or vegetation (Ref. 409). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
