Bell height and width measures 25 mm; large stomach with 4 recurved lips suspended by a broad gelatinous peduncle; dark brown gonads on the manubrium with regular transverse folds, 2 large opposite light brown to tan tentacles and 80 rudimentary marginal tentacles (Ref. 2376).
Active swimmer, feeds primarily on other hydromedusae, favorably Clytia gregaria (Ref. 2376). Species listed only in medusoid stage (Ref. 1663, p. 16).
