Inhabits canals of sponges (Ref. 83410) found on rubble (Ref. 86613) and coarse calcareous bottoms (Ref. 79730). Found on seagrass and other submerged vegetation (Ref. 97531). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
