Distribution: Indian Ocean: from Kuwait and Pakistan to Bangladesh. Pérez Farfante recognizes 2 subspecies: Parapenaeopsis stylifera stylifera from Persian Gulf to India and Sri Lanka and Parapenaeopsis stylifera coromandelica from east coast of India to Indonesia.
