Remarks Found in the lower limit of the intertidal zone (intertidal) to the shelf edge at about 200 m water depth (Ref. 100807). Specimen from Japan was collected from the external surface of a cup-shaped sponge (Callyspongia elegans), and was also found among folds on the extensor base of a barrel sponge Xestospongia sp. This species has occasionally been photographed in shallow waters on the surface of Xestospongia testudinaria in Bali, Indonesi, and the Philippines (Ref. 79378).
