Remarks	Breeds on oceanic islands. Does not typically trail ships (Ref. 91362). Feeds by surface-seizing (Ref. 356). Adult Murphy's petrels deliver food about every tenth day during chick rearing, thus they may be foraging closer to the colony during rearing that incubation (Ref. 5720).
