Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan and Hong Kong.
Diagnosis:  The deep red colony have short, lubulose branches growing in one plane. Polyp cells verruciform, large, and are covered with sclerites. The deep red coenenchyme has a thick, coriaceous, hard exterior. Tentacles are covered by red sclerites. The dark brown axis is soft and flexible near branch tips.
