Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from East Africa, to eastern Polynesia; north to Japan and south to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Buried in sandy bottoms, often in coral reef areas (Ref. 348).
