Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic.
Diagnosis:  Scarlet red to orange. Erect cylinder or bushes. Spicules protrude from numerous evenly-spaced spiny, roundish processes forming the surface. Tough consistency.
Biology:  Dwells in lower mesophotic reefs, heavily silted reefs, coralline algae reefs, shallow coral reefs and hard substrates (Ref. 128739).
