Family:  Fasciolariidae (horse conchs, spindle shells)
Max. size:  6 cm SHL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 12 years
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from East Africa, to Melanesia; north to southern Japan, and south to Queensland and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Locally collected for the food and for the shell (Ref. 349). Common on rocky shores. Shallow subtidal waters (Ref. 349).
