Family:  Penaeidae (penaeid shrimps)
Max. size:  22 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; brackish; marine; depth range 2 - 160 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific Ocean: from Mexico in the Gulf of Tehuantepec to Lobos de Tierra Island, Peru and Galapagos.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs at depths from 2 to 20 m in bottom soft mud. Adults are found in marine environment. Juveniles are found in estuarine environment. Live in tropical climate (Ref. 8). In general, the majority of penaeids are omnivorous or detritus feeders (Ref. 105082).
