Max. size:  6 cm SHL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from East Africa, including Madagascar and the Red Sea, to eastern Polynesia; north to Japan and Hawaii, and south to Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in intertidal areas in coarse sand and coral fragments (Ref. 75831). Also inhabits silty and gravely sands in the upper intertidal, where it is usually buried at 20 to 30 cm in depth (Ref. 65033).
