Family:  Solenoceridae (solenocerid shrimps)
Max. size:  9.5 cm BL (male/unsexed); 13 cm BL (female)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 50 - 175 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Eastern Africa to Taiwan and Australia.
Diagnosis:  Total length: 7.5-9.2 cm (female). Carapace length: 2.2-2.85 cm (female) (Ref. 103).
Biology:  Maximum depth from Ref. 801. Probably burrows in mud during day time, with only the tube-like antennular flagella sticking out for respiration (Ref. 409).
