Family:  Cardiidae (cockles)
Max. size:  7 cm SHH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 10 - 200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Southern India and Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Depth range and maximum size based from original description; to be replaced with a better reference. Found on sand, coral sand, mud, and seagrass beds, in depths of 0 to 200 meters. However, this maximum reported depth is based on fishermen's data and can be an overestimation since most specimens have been collected from shallow water (Ref. 132936).
