Known from mangroves in Hong Kong (Ref. 112938). In moderate to fully exposed shores. Shell serves as a substratum for the barnacle Amphibalanus amphitrite (Ref. 127116).
This species is a non-broadcast spawner. Life cycle does not include trocophore stage (Refs. 1260349, 833). Aggregate during breeding season (Ref. 127095).
