Short description Morphology

Body: Oblong. Valves: Colored gray to greenish brown, or speckled with red; strongly sculptured. Lateral areas: Strongly elevated by 3 or 4 very coarse large, beaded ribs. Jugal tract: Longitudinal rows of fine beads. Central areas: Twelve very sharp, granulose, longitudinal ribs. Girdle: Very fine scales and an occasional single hair (Ref. 281).
