Found under and between rocks from tidal zone to shallow waters (Ref. 80041). Found in muddy and sandy substrates (Ref. 105057). Restricted to coral reefs, deeply embedded in living or dead coral (Ref. 115333).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
