Found in estuarine or brackish waters (Ref. 106854). Descends from its burrow above high tide mark to feed on mangrove leaves which they took into their burrows (Ref. 114268).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
