Colony: massive, commonly over 1 m across. Corallites: deep, angular, with very thick walls. Septa: equal, uniform, not exsert, finely toothed. Paliform lobes often present. Color: walls always uniform amber with cream or white oral discs (Ref. 848).
Found in most reef environments (Ref. 848).

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
