Shell color varies from dirty white to dark purple-brown, often yellowish white with a faint brown band in the middle of the whorls. Operculum is thin, transparent yellow, almost circular, has a central nucleus, and consists of about 5 whorls. Cephalic tentacles are moderately long, parallel sided, and slender.
Lower intertidal, in sandy mud (Ref. 128859).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
