Commonly found along the mid-intertidal zone buried in clay and soft rock; marked with siphon holes, sizes of which are relative to the siphon and shell size of each individual (Ref. 95344).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
