Dark brown with whitish along dorsal ridge. Girdle: Wider at anterior; it is brownish in color, densely covered with minute, slender, pointed, yellowish-brown spicules; these are sparsely interspersed with fairly thick, round bristles (Ref. 283).
Found from intertidal to subtidal, on rocks (Refs. 289, 75835) (Ref. 289).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
